Through exploration and research we gather data, and data, in my opinion, is the foundation of science. This data though does not always need to be quantitative, but can be a collection of narratives, opinions and events–past or present. When we listen to all actors involved in any environmental concern, we can begin to pull our resources together and find innovative ways to mitigate or even stop the issue. And usually when one issue is uncovered it leads to another issue that leads to another. Which is why we need to think big, hone in on the details and understand everything in-between. If we know better, we can do better.
